“Let me ask you something.  If this was a case of you knocking up some groupie, would we be standing here right now?”

“You know the answer, of course.  Men in my family step up.  I’m relieved it’s not.”

Drake zipped up his jeans, “Still can’t believe you’re doing this though.”

“Which is messing with your head.  I know part of your issue when I did this the first go around was because, it didn’t have anything to do with you and you were afraid I’d quit HR.  Now things are changing again, this time, with a kid.”

Drake put on his shirt and shot his friend a look, “I’m sorry man, I just can’t seem to quit you.”

He laughed in reply and flipped him off.

“I know what you’re saying; I don’t do well with change.”

He chuckled as he put his own jeans back on, “No shit.”

“She’s not ruling it out at least.”

“Good, but the man cave, and then your hospital room?  Dude, really?”

He rolled his eyes, “Yeah, well at least I don’t equip my junk with prank condoms, dumbass.”

They both laughed and Seth sobered, “Is it weird I’m not more freaked about this?”

His best bud shrugged, “You are being eerily calm, maybe this is God’s way of telling you this is nothing, because in nine months your entire world is about to be turned on its head.”

“And telling you another good cop will be entering your life and you’re still going to have to hold it at the baptism.”

“Fuck.”

“You know, women like Angela deserve the big production when it comes to the proposal.”

“So everyone keeps saying.  What am I supposed to do?  Ask her in sky writing or at a ballgame or something?”

He snorted as he put on his shoes, “She even like baseball?”

“Big Mets fan as a matter of fact.”

“But you’re an Indian’s fan.”

“I know, I already decided against the seventh inning stretch.”

He chuckled, “Then what are you going to do?”

“Dude, I have no fucking clue.  How’d you ask Simone, anyway?”

“Backyard on the putting green, but I actually didn’t propose, I sort of told her and then lucked out when she agreed to the idea.”

Drake laughed, “And I supposedly suck at this?”
